Donate Food

Donating food is a great way to increase the supply of food and resources to those in need! Food donations are welcome throughout the year. Your efforts make an enormous difference in the amount and variety of foods we are able to distribute to feed hungry people in our community.

Food & Fund Drives

Schools, religious groups, civic organizations, local businesses, and clubs conduct food and fund drives on behalf of Channel One. You can get involved by planning a drive for your group!

Hosting a Food and Fund drive is a great way to increase the supply of food and resources to those in need! Channel One has created a Food and Fund Drive 101 Kit to help you get started on your next drive.

Come see for yourself how Channel One operates!

Tours are available to individuals and groups of up to 20 people. Tours are free – but we wouldn’t mind if you brought a can of food as your donated “admission fee.” To schedule a tour call 507-287-2350. Be sure to include your name, phone number, e-mail address, and date and time you would like to come.

Attention All Gardeners

You can help feed people in need by sharing your garden’s yield.

When you plan your garden, consider planting a little extra to donate to the Channel One Supplemental Food Shelf. You don’t need to have a big garden to donate; any amount is helpful and needed. So if you find yourself with extra produce throughout the year, please consider donating. You can make an impact by donating your surplus produce to Channel One Regional Food Bank. Your fresh and healthy donations will help feed local families and individuals struggling to make ends meet.

Channel One is glad to accept donations of produce that travel well and are good keepers including:

  • Carrots
  • Radishes
  • Green Beans
  • Summer Squash (please keep maximum length for zucchini under 8 inches)
  • Winter Squash
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Peppers
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Beets

Due to its perishability, Channel One prefers not to receive donations of lettuce. For specific guidelines of donating produce, please download our Produce Resource Sheet »
