Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP is a federal program that provides assistance for low-income people and families to purchase nutritious food. People and families qualify for SNAP based on their income.
The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program
This program pays benefits to disabled adults and children who have limited income and resources. SSI benefits also are payable to people 65 and older without disabilities who meet the financial limits.

United Way 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember, three-digit number that people and families can call to obtain free and confidential information on health and human services. 2-1-1 call centers are staffed 24/7 by trained Community Resource Specialists who quickly assess needs and refer callers to the help that they seek.

Community Garden Programs
- The Village Agricultural Co-op is eleven acres of free community garden space in southwest Rochester. They offer garden space to grow food, exchange knowledge and share resources.
