Mobile Food Pantries are in communities with few, if any, food shelves, limited transportation, and high food insecurity rates. Channel One looks at food distribution in all 14 counties we serve and the Meals Per Person in Need we are able to supply, to determine gaps in support. In FY 2019-2020, Channel One distributed 319,554 pounds of food through Mobile Food Pantries.

There is no pre-registration or proof of income required and participants may attend all of the mobile pantries, if they so choose. These are TEFAP-eligible events and food is available to anyone earning 300% or less of federal guidelines.

Food boxes contain shelf-stable groceries and frozen food, such as meat or protein and bakery items. Currently, attendees do not have to get out of their cars for access to healthy food options. Volunteers will place boxes of food directly in the trunk or back seat of participants’ vehicles.
