ROCHESTER, MN, November 14, 2018— Channel One Regional Food Bank is proud to announce its partnership with Think Mutual Bank to help feed people in need. Trucks are essential to Channel One’s mission. Channel One’s trucks serve 185 food shelves and meal programs in its 14 county region by delivering food to their doors.

And, as a food bank and hub for food rescue in our region – Channel One relies on the trucks to pick up the food from donors, including grocery stores, restaurants, and food manufacturers, bringing food that would otherwise go to waste into the hands of people struggling with hunger.

Because of this demand, Channel One has a high need for reliable trucks. Think Mutual Bank believes that being good corporate citizens means giving generously to the people and organizations that make our community great, and have pledged their support through a $75,000 commitment over a five-year span to help provide a refrigerated straight truck to serve the Channel One region. This generous commitment brings Channel One halfway to its goal, and Channel One is currently seeking an additional investor or investors. This new truck, slated for purchase in 2019, will feature a co-branded truck wrap, and will promote Think Mutual Bank’s dedication to the nearly 60,000 individuals in the Channel One service area facing hunger.

“So many people rely on these Channel One trucks”, says Virginia Merritt, Executive Director of Channel One, “Without them we would not be able to get food to the areas we serve. Think Bank’s generosity and understanding of this need is amazing, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Paul Mackin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Think Mutual Bank states, “We’re delighted to partner with Channel One on this important opportunity that supports the critical work they do in the community”.
