This unique and historic property was purchased by Dr. Charles Mayo in 1914. In 1916, 140 acres was conveyed to Dr. Donald Balfour as a wedding gift for his marriage to Carrie Mayo and the remaining acreage was developed over the following 10 years. The grounds, now owned by the Kvenvold family, are spectacular and welcoming with rolling hills, wooded landscapes, limestone outcroppings, historical buildings all situated along the sprawling south fork Zumbro River.
