Olmsted Medical Center recently provided Channel One Regional Food Bank with a $50,000 gift that will provide 200,000 meals to people in need in our area. The need for food has risen greatly, and OMC wants to improve access to nutritious food for our community. This gift was made on behalf of OMC employees with thanks to Channel One for providing such critical services to our friends and neighbors.

Channel One is honored to work with OMC to fulfill an important part of our strategic plan: addressing food insecurity as a health issue.

Channel One will also continue its grocery delivery program during the winter months, as weather conditions increasingly complicate access to food.

“Winter has a lot to do with people not being able to travel as easily as they’d like,” said Jessica Sund of Channel One Regional Food Bank. “Many of our vulnerable populations are going to have a hard time – people who have to get to us by bus, it’s a lot harder in the winter months.”

If you’d like to request a grocery delivery from Channel One, we encourage anyone in need to call the COVID-19 Information Hotline at (507) 328-2822.
