Effective Wednesday, August 4, Channel One will again require all staff, volunteers and shoppers to wear a mask. While this may feel like a “step back”, it is our hope that this change is temporary, and that once the transmission of COVID-19 and/or the Delta variant are curbed and the community spread slowed, we will once again be able to provide services unmasked.
Olmsted Medical Center recently donated this gift on behalf of their employees, providing 200,000 nutritious meals to our region. We are honored to work with OMC to fulfill an important part of our strategic plan: addressing food insecurity as a health issue. Thank you, OMC!
Last week, on October 8th and 9th, Channel One Regional Food Bank held its 16th annual Empty Bowls. Through sponsorships and pre-orders, the to-go event raised over $68,000 to address food insecurity. This is a net increase of $6000 from 2019.
Fareway Stores recently received a Campaign Champion award from the Minnesota Grocers Association (MGA) for going above and beyond in the fight against hunger. As a Campaign Champion, Fareway Stores received $500 to donate to a food charity of their choice. Channel One is honored to receive this donation from MGA on behalf of Fareway Stores!
